      Occupational Summary:

      The Director for Regional Alumnae and Multi-Cultural Engagement is part of the Regional Engagement team of Duke Alumni Engagement and Development (AED) and supports the regional engagement of Duke’s 90,000+ female identifying and 50,000+ multi-cultural undergraduate, graduate, and professional school alumni in the U.S. and around the world. The foci of the work will be the Regional Women’s Forum chapters in 21 cities in the US and international, supporting Alumni Engagement and Development programs focused on alumnae engagement and philanthropy (e.g. Women’s Weekend, and Women’s Impact Network), and sharing best practices for alumnae engagement with partners across the university. Additionally, the position will coordinate work between the Multi-Cultural Advancement Team and the Regional Team.

      Work Performed:

      • Lead regional engagement strategy for female identifying constituents including researching, testing, and sharing best practices for women’s engagement with partners across AED and the University.
      • Recruit, train, and set strategy for Women’s Forum Steering Committees in 21 markets
      • Work with Women’s Forum volunteers to plan and execute events and programs.
      • Facilitate programs and information with AED Women’s Weekend and Duke Centers and Initiatives focused on Women and on Diverse Student population.
      • Partner with AED development to plan and execute women’s philanthropy initiatives.
      • Collaborate with the Multi-Cultural Advancement team to align programming in the regions with AED strategies, and facilitate communications with identity group boards.
      • Gather, post, and analyze data about alumnae and diverse constituent engagement.
      • Assist with the updating of websites and databases, newsletters, and other communications pieces with information about volunteers and activities.

      This position will occasionally involve travel.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Education

      Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

      Experience

      Work requires four years of experience in alumni affairs, public relations, program administration, marketing or related field to acquire the advanced skills necessary to direct the planning and coordination of social, educational, and community service activities and events.
