Lead the development and execution of the global government relations strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Establish and nurture strong connections with government officials, industry associations, and other external partners.
Monitor and analyze government policies, legislation, and regulatory developments that may impact the company's operations
Advise senior leadership on potential risks and opportunities related to government relations and propose appropriate strategies and actions
Collaborate with internal teams to provide guidance and support on government relations matters
Represent the company in meetings, conferences, and industry events, presenting a positive and professional image
Manage a team of government relations professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to drive exceptional performance

Curiosity about the world and strong interest in geo politics
Strong interest in the government, public policy and how it works
Proven work experience in government or government relations
Experience in the finance/insurance industry is an asset
Equivalent experience in a relevant field is also considered favorable.
Exceptional understanding of the regulatory landscape and political dynamics
Excellent ability to analyze and solve complex problems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Strong influencing abilities
Proven track record of establishing and nurturing relationships with essential partners
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while balancing various priorities concurrently
Builds trusted relationships and works effectively across the organization at all levels
Strong attention to detail
College or University degree in a related field is preferred
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, Canva
Strong organization and time management skills
Bilingualism (English, French) is a strong asset

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Toronto, OntarioPrimary Location
Salary range is expected to be between
$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
