      About the Opportunity

      Reporting to the Senior Director for Continuing Care, the Director, Service Delivery Support is accountable in conjunction with the Senior Director and four zone Directors for the overall planning, development, implementation and evaluation of continuing care support services and stewardship of continuing care resources. The Director works collaboratively and constructively with contracted service providers to ensure Nova Scotia Health priorities and outcomes are achieved and effective, sustainable system delivery systems are developed and maintained.

      The Director leads the Continuing Care support services team at the provincial level, providing strategic and operational support to the continuing care team and working in collaboration with stakeholders across all levels of the health system.

      The Director fosters an environment of learning, respectful workplace and accountability, incorporating quality frameworks and processes. The Director ensures that the priorities of the support services team is aligned with the priorities at the zone and Nova Scotia Health levels.

      The Director ensures that support services are evidence-informed and consistent with best practices while ensuring resource sustainability. The Director ensures that services and staff comply with all professional, ethical and legislative requirements. The Director participates in or leads a number of committees, councils and work groups, with a range of partners internal and external to NSH, designed to promote the improvement of services and supports for individuals requiring continuing care services.

      The Director also collaborates with members of the Department of Seniors and Long-term Care on a regular basis. Specific accountabilities include collecting and monitoring data to support evidence-based decision making, operational planning, creating a culture supporting continuous quality improvement, contributing to continuing care policy development and implementation, and leading change management. The Director demonstrates a core set of attitudes, values, and competencies consistent with the with LEADS in a Caring Environment framework to all of their work and is accountable to provide competent, safe and ethical professional practice.

      About You

      We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

      • Baccalaureate degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years or a Masters degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years in leadership/management experience in a healthcare field or related business environment
      • Demonstrated contract management and/or system performance management in a health care environment
      • Demonstrated leadership skills in a healthcare or related business environment
      • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and clients
      • Strong human resource management, financial management, interpersonal and communication skills
      • Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills
      • Evidence of success in developing a culture of continuous quality improvement
      • Evidence of commitment to a healthy workplace
      • Ability to demonstrate the NSH vision, mission and values
      • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

      Hours

      • Permanent Full Time; 75 hours bi-weekly
      • Commencing January 29, 2024; date is approximate and subject to change
      • Hours of work may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays

      Compensation and Incentives

      $52.08 - $69.19 hourly
