- Develop and execute the overall technology strategy and vision for the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team.
- Lead a team of SRE engineers responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our e-commerce platform.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the availability, efficiency, and resiliency of our systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, operations, and infrastructure, to establish and maintain robust service-level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets.
- Manage the technology budget for the SRE team, ensuring effective allocation of resources and optimizing costs without compromising system reliability.
- Define and enforce best practices and standards for monitoring, incident response, change management, and capacity planning.
- Champion the adoption of modern DevOps practices, automation, and infrastructure-as-code principles to enable efficient and scalable operations.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to site reliability engineering, and assess their potential impact on our systems and processes.
- Collaborate with product management teams to understand business requirements and align the SRE team's efforts with organizational goals.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and external partners to leverage their expertise and tools for improving site reliability.
- Build and lead a high-performing SRE team, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities.
- Drive the development and implementation of incident management processes, ensuring timely and effective response to production issues.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the reliability and performance of our systems, and report progress to senior management.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure the implementation of robust security measures and practices within the SRE domain.
- Establish disaster recovery plans and procedures, including regular testing and validation of backup and recovery mechanisms.
- Oversee the design and implementation of monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and issues.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams during the software development life cycle to ensure the operability and resilience of new features and services.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Lead incident post-mortems and root cause analysis, identifying opportunities for system enhancements and process optimizations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, promoting a collaborative and customer-centric approach within the SRE team.
- 10+ experience in a leadership role overseeing Site Reliability Engineering or a related discipline within a fast-paced e-commerce or technology company.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably with experience in managing highly scalable systems on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in managing technology budgets and optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
- knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience in implementing and managing observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
- Understanding of incident management frameworks and incident response management and post-mortem analysis.
- Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Your role at Sephora:
As a Director, Site Reliability Engineering you lead the way in building, establishing, and operating the Sire Reliability Engineering practice. You should have proven expertise as a SRE Leader who is passionate about ensuring reliability of software solutions and knowledgeable about tools and practices for ensuring no downtime to Sephora Tech. The annual base salary range for this position is $175,536.00 - $231,610.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
