      Direct Report: Chief Marketing & Experience Officer

      Position Summary

      The Director of Strategy & Planning at Georgia Aquarium will be responsible for providing focused oversight to GAI’s strategic priorities. The Director will have a range of responsibilities to progress the organization’s strategic plan, including, but not limited to, partnering with senior leaders to analyze progress against the plan, leading the planning process, and communicating findings to key stakeholders.

      Responsibilities:

      1. Partner with senior leaders to analyze progress against the strategic plan.
      2. Communicate findings, present options, and make recommendations to senior leaders.
      3. Advise senior leaders on actions to maintain alignment with strategic goals.
      4. Lead annual review process to refresh prioritized goals / initiatives.
      5. Lead organization-wide initiatives.
      6. Drive cross-functional collaboration for key initiatives.
      7. Communicate findings clearly and effectively in both oral and written form.
      8. Deliver messages with confidence to senior leaders and the Board, as needed.
      9. Oversee and manage staff, as assigned.
      10. Possess a great personality and willingness to work with others.
      11. Be a catalyst for change management, influence peers and leadership.
      12. Build strong working relationships with other departments.
      13. Perform other duties as required.

      Qualifications:

      • 5+ years of work experience preferred in professional consulting, business analytics, finance, and/or related fields, experience with strategic planning preferred.
      • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or similar degree preferred.
      • Ability to lead complex problem-solving in an unstructured environment.
      • Experience working with non-profit management or with C-suite executives.
      • Excellent presentation and communication skills
      • Previous experience leading teams.
