Job Description

- Supervise project survey team in urban and remote areas of Idaho and the Western U.S. including scheduling, management, and coordination of the daily and on-going operations of the Meridian survey team.
- Project types include Control, Boundary, Subdivisions, ALTA, Topographic & Design surveys in support of the internal Development and Transportation teams, 3D Scanning and Modeling, Aerial Mapping Control and UAVs surveys, Construction Staking (site development and highway) and Bathymetric Surveys.
- Project management duties including business development, quality control, project tracking from start to finish, and client contact.
- Provide professional & technical oversight and guidance.
- Monitors projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with clients on technical and contractual
- Understand and identify basic sources of measurement errors.
- Perform quality control checks on each project, including computations and final project deliverables.
- Perform project research, logistics and management, review plats and prepare legal descriptions.
- Adhere to the company’s policies, safety plan and project specific safety plans.
- Mentor survey team members, including professional & technical oversight and guidance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Idaho Professional Land Surveyor registration required or ability to obtain within 6 months; CFedS certification and other registration in multiple States a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree (4yr) in a Geomatics (surveying) based program preferred.
- Min of seven (7) years surveying and mapping experience required.
- 3+ years Project Management experience
- Proficient with Trimble survey equipment and software a plus.
- Proficient with Civil3D (Version 2022+), MicroStation Open Roads a plus.
- Ability to read and understand survey drawings, plans & specifications.
- Knowledge of principles of monumentation, staking and marking.
- Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Requires advanced knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
- Must be productive and positive working in both the field and office environments.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements.
- Must be able and willing to travel.
- Valid Driver’s License required; must meet company insurability requirements.

NV5 has a need for a Survey Manager / Director to join its team in Meridian, ID. Come be a part of a growing Pacific Northwest NV5 team with the opportunity to be located in the popular Treasure Valley of SW Idaho. This position is for a Survey Manager / Director to lead an established team of Project Surveyors and technical staff, provide professional review of work products; helps manage office and field production and workload, and supports the Survey Department by maintaining projects on schedule and budget. This position will also be responsible to assist the Operations Manager and other service line Directors and PMs with Business Development efforts including the preparation of scopes of work, fee estimates, proposals and to foster and grow positive client relationships.
