      Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success.       JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for leadership, direction and oversite of all Ride & Show maintenance activities, budgets, safety, operational readiness, and show quality for Epic Universe and assigned areas. Ensure the rides and attractions are compliant with all governing bodies. Interface with UPR and other Universal parks for conformance to internal standards. Manages and leads senior managers, managers and supervisors to include continuous improvement, personal development, and administration in area of responsibility. Ensures team member safety in all attractions within area of responsibility. Develops, executes, and oversees TSAT action plans, safety plans and training plans specific to area of responsibility. Develops and oversees all routine, capital, and expense budgeting and sets direction and priorities of all maintenance functions for the area of responsibility. Manages the mechanical, controls, vehicle, welding, and machine maintenance activities in area of responsibility. Oversees, revises, and implements the preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure compliance with OEM specifications for all annual maintenance. Responsible for establishing and maintaining all operational and service level standards for both internal and external customers. Manages the Audio, Video, Lighting, and Surveillance for Ride & Show.

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Oversees the work and activities of the Ride & Show, Show Systems, Lighting, Surveillance, Central Shops Assembly, Machine, Weld, Vehicle Maintenance and Figure Finish groups. Establishes the department’s overall objectives and priorities in order to meet the highest standards for safety, reliability, compliance and show quality. Ensures alignment with Universal Parks & Resorts requirements and all other Universal parks. Ensures all areas of responsibility are following ASTM F-24 guidelines as well as original manufacturer’s requirements. Manage Ride & Show assets by developing, prioritizing, and implementing preventative, predictive and emergency maintenance programs for Epic Universe.
      • Employee safety training, TSAT and EHS compliance are always the highest priority. Make sure TMs are working within compliance and are current on proper safety training and meet all safety regulations. Ensures that everyone on the team is safe by taking a proactive approach to handling safety-related issues, using PPE properly, having regular safety discussions with the team, and continuously analyzing all tasks for job safety.
      • Develop and maintain routine budgets for the Ride & Show department. Manages spend to stay within assigned budget and provide maximum value. Assists with building capital and expense plans as required. Oversee the Ride & Show team and provide guidance to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Sets the priorities and oversees any modifications and/or engineering modifications to ensure timely completion of tasks. Research new technologies and techniques to provide innovative solutions that can help improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of maintaining and operating attractions.
      • Develops and oversees improvement goals, provides guidance to ensure goals are met, and communicates all goals to the team. Sets the Ride & Show team’s strategic direction to ensure that their priorities are in line with those of their partners. Assists with the development of policies and procedures, predictive, preventative, and corrective technologies, and training programs to improve the overall performance of the attractions. Identify and implement GSAT initiatives to reduce attraction related 11-D downtime occurrences. Partner with Facilities/Utilities and Engineering teams to prioritize corrective actions.
      • Oversees and coordinates all direct reports’ training and development while administering development plans on a regular basis and as required. Ensures compliance to all Universal Orlando policies and procedures. Develops, executes, and oversees training plans for area of responsibility increasing the preparedness of the entire team. Develops, implements, and oversees TSAT action plans for area of responsibility driving increases in overall engagement. Inspires the Ride & Show team(s) to have a customer-focused attitude and instills a tradition of continuous process improvement.
      • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      EDUCATION:

      • Associate degree in General Education or Technology is required.
      • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering or Master’s degree is preferred.

      EXPERIENCE:

      • 10+ years’ experience in theme park Maintenance is required.
      • 8+ years’ supervisory experience is required.
      • 4+ years’ Manager, Ride & Show experience is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: NAARSO certification of level 1 is required.
