      Location

      This position reports on site at the Republic Plaza building located at 370 17th St, Denver, CO 80202, Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

      What You’ll Do

      The Denver District Attorney’s Office is currently seeking a Discovery Clerk Administrative Assistant to join the team. The Discovery Clerk will handle discovery requests and maintain all files associated.

      The responsibilities for this position are as follows:

      • Intake of EOA, PD list and Discovery Requests- Scan all Entry of Appearance (EOA), Motions for Discovery or simple discovery request in Action with minimal error and confirm they have been accurately added to the related case
        • When EOA’s are sent without requesting discovery provide a follow up letter or email explaining correct manner to request discovery with our office
        • Enter appropriate defense party in Action
        • Ensure all corresponding attorney information is accurate in the current J Action name records for that attorney
      • Complete a Case Review – Determine what information is discoverable in the Action filing cabinet
        • Move all pertaining documents to the appropriate discover folder and document duplicates appropriately
      • Communication and Discovery Room – Answer all discovery related phone calls or emails from the public or defense
        • Create an open line of communication with the attorney team if discovery issues or duplicate requests are being received
      • Understand the responsibilities of the department as a whole and works as an Administrative Support Assistant (ASA) Team Unit
        • Help answer daily incoming County Court calls during scheduled time and provides coverage when requested
        • Understands the importance of learning other team roles in order to provide coverage as needed
        • Takes initiative to clarify any procedures not understood
      • Manages office time efficiently – Demonstrates multitasking skills by showing an ability to determine task importance and work accordingly
        • Creates an environment that reduces stress for the courtroom team, peers, and supervisor
        • Handles urgent discovery tasks or requests by attorneys or supervisor same day
        • Adapts quickly to changes required within the department, office, city, state, and nation without issue
      • Confidential Information and Alternative Agencies – Reviews cases to ensure Trails Reports or other confidential information is not discovered
        • Redacts Social Security Numbers in NCIC’s before provided to defense
        • Contacts Supervisor if any doubt accurately redacting confidential information

      Required Minimum Qualifications

      • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
      • Experience: Two (2) years of clerical experience.
      • Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
