      Main duties of the job

      Dispensing

      Dispensing acute and repeat prescriptions

      Updating patients records where appropriate

      Dispensing controlled drugs in line with current regulations

      Checking colleagues dispensing

      Ensuring the dispensary area remains clean and tidy

      Maintaining the cold chain and reporting any concerns to management

      Prescriptions

      Handing out prescriptions and collecting charges where appropriate

      Processing repeat requests as per surgery protocol

      Sorting and endorsing prescriptions

      Completing backs of prescriptions

      Generating prescriptions when required

      Stock Control

      Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers' websites

      Checking in goods as and when delivered

      Returning incorrect goods to the wholesalers

      Stocking shelves, fridges and other storage area using rotation method

      Removing out of date stock from shelves

      Disposal of returned medicine

      Dispensing

      Dispensing acute and repeat prescriptions

      Updating patients records where appropriate

      Dispensing controlled drugs in line with current regulations

      Ensuring the dispensary area remains clean and tidy
