Distribution Designer - North Canton, OH

We are actively hiring a Distribution Designer in North Canton, OH. This person will perform detailed design work, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer. This is a great chance for someone with minimal relevant experience to learn new marketable skills within a stable industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.
• Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards covering the assigned work.
• Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
• Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
• Ability to learn new skills within Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.

Job Requirements

• Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience are highly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to learn and perform job duties and responsibilities
• Relevant experience and/or knowledge in design and construction

Work Environment

In-office environment with the opportunity for flexible hours once trained. There is also the opportunity to work from home for 2 days a week once trained, at the discretion of the management.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
