      Job Description

      The District Managers of LKQ are the key link between the Regional Vice President and the General Managers/Plant Managers as key corporate field contacts.

      The internal development and growth of the team is a primary function of the role. It is the responsibility of the District Manager to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence, and economic goals. Direct oversight of local management much like a business consultant by mentoring, coaching, and training, as well as building communication, accountability, and infrastructure to support all employees.

      Core Duties/Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

      • Leadership Skills: Keep local management teams motivated, resolve conflicts, and make hard decisions. Build a pipeline of leadership, maintain accountability with location management, and lead managers to acceptable professionalism and job performance.
      • Time Management: Work with multiple locations and managers across a large region, and coordinate visiting these locations weekly or bi-weekly.
      • Business Acumen: Maintain a budget, and review monthly financial statements for your location and district. Be confident in using in knowing where your strengths and opportunities are within your region.
      • Analytical Skills: Being a good judge of character to ensure the right people are in leadership roles to maintain an efficient and motivated team. Analytical skills to be able to solve problems that arise during a typical workday.
      • Decision-Making Skills: Whether it is dealing with employees, management, or vendors, making decisions that affect the company. Having the ability to make hard and fast decisions is crucial in this role.
      • Speaking and Writing: Lots of communication as a District Manager. In front of a group of employees, in a meeting with local management, or with peers, and corporate leadership. Great verbal communication and writing skills are essential to this position.

      Key Skills - What behavioral traits, attitudes, and skills are required?

      • 3-5 years of experience in management or service-related in a District Manager role or above.
      • Experience managing high-volume or multi-unit operations w/a minimum of 4 locations.
      • Extraordinary people skills (needs to set an example and the standard)
      • Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.
      • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
      • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
      • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
      • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
      • Goal setting, organizational, and accountability skills
      • Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
      • Proactive, positive attitude
      • Effective time management, proven track record.

      Pay $130,000 - $160,000yr plus great benefits!

      Requirements

      Basic Qualifications

      Education & Experience:

      • 5+ years of management experience required

      Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

      • Must be a team builder and possess good leadership skills
      • Must have good verbal and written communication skills

      Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

      • Must have the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions
      • Must be able to work under pressure comfortably
      • Extensive overnight travel is required

      Preferred Qualifications:

      College degree.
