- Clearly communicate DEI goals and targets
- Drive Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging by sharing perspective, insights, and knowledge relevant to all areas of diversity in a consultative manner to stakeholders across the organization.
- Lead and implement new programs with the ability to scale based on global diversity and inclusion better practices.
- Support and advise ERGs, Affinity Groups, and Working teams with annual planning, membership management, global scaling, employee events
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide cross competency cultural events
- Facilitate in person and virtual Inclusion learning events
- Partner with BUs on implementing annual DEI initiatives
- Create and curate DEI materials for people leaders and employees
- Source DEI learning resources for employees
- Coach Hiring Managers on diversity hiring practices
- Collaborate with TA on diversity recruitment & sourcing practices
- Provide cross cultural onboarding experiences for new hires
- Collaborate with HRBPs on achieving Novanta Way metrics
- Enable BU partnering with strategic partners
- Establish and regularly report metrics that demonstrate impact and effectiveness
- Leverage internal expertise, vendors, and consultants
- Assist in developing a long-term strategy to increase engagement, awareness and support of diversity initiatives
- Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of DEI generalist experience
- Track record of progressive development through working experiences in various areas of human resources management or other related area preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing inclusion strategies to address business needs and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborative, growth-oriented, and can see tasks through to completion.
- Enthusiastic about engaging with a diverse community and serving as a role model to employees.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Capability of being a strong decision-maker, able to use independent judgment with limited supervision.
- Flexibility, sensitivity, and diplomacy and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple constituencies are essential.
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong leading, managing, coordinating, and scheduling experience.
- Excellent communication and executive coaching skills.
- Ability to demonstrate business and financial acumen.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Job aids and system documentation
- Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
- Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

- Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials

Business Unit Overview
This position is part of Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services global teams. Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company’s strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization’s financial success.
Job Summary
Novanta is seeking a DEI professional to build and execute innovative, inclusive experiences that will inspire our employees to embrace our DEI goals and targets. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist is an essential position that will report to the Senior Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Key responsibilities include both strategic, tactical, and programmatic activities for our multiple business units located around the globe at our regional sites. This role for numerous ventures designed to sustain the Company’s ongoing mission to nurture a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.
