      Job Description:

      The Private Wealth Management (PWM), International (Int’l), and Institutional (Inst’l) Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing business management functions across both field and home office teams. The COO leads a team of direct reports and is a proactive key advisor to the Head of PWM, Inst’l and Int’l. They will drive short and long term plans focusing on revenue growth, cost-efficiency, profitability, client experience, advisor hiring & productivity, risk management and operational excellence. They must have strong relationships across the enterprise and collaborate with key partners to drive work forward. Other core responsibilities include defining and leading strategic business initiatives, financial and operating plans, leadership routines, and advisor process controls (due diligence, financial modeling, exceptions, capacity, gearing ratios, etc). The role will also work closely with the Field Operations Executive to drive consistency across national initiatives and best-practice sharing and the creation of centralized tools and tactics in the field.

      The PWM, International, and Institutional business currently includes 7 PWM hubs, 2 International hubs, over dedicated 740 PWM and International Advisors and their support teams. The business also provides additional support and services for advisors with a heavy concentration of Private or International clients, comprising over 1,500 advisors. While direct Institutional impact is embedded through the US Wealth Management markets, PWM and International businesses annualize over $2.4B in revenue and over $600B in assets and liabilities.

      • 15+years of leadership experience in the ultra-high new worth wealth management business with wealth management industry knowledge, e.g., clients, competitors, products, economics, regulations, policies etc.

      • Strong, strategic, logical and creative thinker with an ability to translate strategy into pragmatic tactics that drive business

      • Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen with ability to identify trends, understand cause and effects, etc.

      • Well-developed business judgment and experience

      • Deep intellectual curiosity with willingness to immerse self in continuously learning business at fullest level of detail

      • Outstanding execution skills

      • Able to launch, manage and complete complex and large projects, skillfully leading and guiding teams to success and results

      • Strong, confident and effective communicator (both oral and written)

      • Proven track-record in relationship building and people leadership; able to work collaboratively with people across functions and organizational lines/levels

      • Approaches role with right balance between advisors, home office, clients, and shareholders

      • Exceptionally strong work ethic with success focused attitude

      • Bachelor’s degree desired
