      Job Description:

      Dock Administrator

      The objective of this position is to execute the daily Logistics plan, and to support other plant activities as needed. The Dock Administrator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of and the smooth flow of orders and shipping paperwork while achieving company safety, quality,

      performance goals, and objectives on a daily basis. Essential duties include supporting all outbound operations at all sites, organizing and maintaining the dock schedule, ensuring drivers are meeting the equipment requirements and standards for each load, managing

      driver check-ins, monitoring many aspects of inbound/outbound activities, and other general duties that promote the goals of the Logistics Department.

      Essential Duties

      Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      ● All driver and visitor check-ins.

      ● Phone coverage.

      ● Maintain Dock Schedule at designated sites, maintaining 100% accuracy.

      Work with the Shipping Supervisor to maximize dock door utilization.

      ● Manage priority of all outbound truckload shipments.

      ● Document and track carriers dock-in/ gate-out times against metrics.

      ● Input POD information for GAF fleet into system.

      ● Report any carrier issues to management (i.e. late arrival, refusal to take weight, etc.)

      ● Maximize all truck weights by using system processes and scales.

      ● Generate pick-slips for loaders as needed from the system.

      ● Ensure shipping department personnel have the proper pick-slips for each outbound shipment.

      ● Maximize dock door utilization by providing support to Shipping loaders as needed

      ● Audit orders for accuracy, proper loading, tarping, strapping, etc.

      ● Work with the Logistics Coordinator in the control of inventory, receiving of RMA’s, documenting FIFO issues, and cycle-counting as needed.

      ● Monitor carrier compliance to dock scheduling and report to Transportation Planner.

      ● Support all FDC operations through the maintenance of dock schedules and the tracking of all paperwork.

      ● Act as point-of-contact for all FDCs with regards to carrier and paperwork issues.

      ● Creation of Bills of Lading, U.S. Customs paperwork, shuttle tickets, shipping manifests and pick-slips as needed.

      ● Verify the proper documentation of all outbound shipments.

      ● Deplete all shipped orders and the receiving of shuttle tickets.

      ● Prepare reports as needed for Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor, Transportation Planner, and Logistics Manager as needed.

      ● File and track all documentation of all outbound shipments.

      ● Enter all required data for shipments including gate in, dock in, dock out and gate out times, loaders id, reason codes etc. is entered into the system.

      ● Work with the Logistics Coordinator to maintain inventory accuracy between Plant and offsite warehouse(s) by ensuring all processes for creating inventory transfer transactions in system is followed and completed.

      ● Audit outbound paperwork as needed.

      ● Proactively communicate for issue resolution and process improvements

      ● Act as back-up to both the Logistics Coordinator and the Transportation Planner as needed..

      ● Support safety of dock area, and maintain a safety-conscious workforce by enforcing all safety policies and housekeeping practices when it comes to all drivers on-site.

      ● Maintain cleanliness of work areas

      ● Perform other duties as assigned.
