- Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
- Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
- Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
- Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
- Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
- Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
- Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
- Other duties as assigned
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications.
- Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
- Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD 2023 & Map3D
- Telecommunications industry standards
- Regulations for OSP facilities
- Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
- Government permit requirements
- OSP Communications Design systems
- Fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment
- Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
- Occasionally: Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk

Pay Range : The Drafter/Designer hourly wage range is $20.00 - $22.00/hr, depending on experience.
