      This role will support economic, statistical and forecasting program delivery and projects by developing and managing data, ensuring accuracy of computations and methodologies, conducting comprehensive economic and statistical analysis, and developing reports on results. This involves working collaboratively with intra-Ministry stakeholder senior economists.

      Job Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or directly related field such as business, commerce, statistics, or equivalent.
      • A minimum of 2 years of experience planning and conducting complex data driven economic studies, research projects, or policy analysis.
      • Experience in using software/system for economic analysis and/or forecasting modelling.


      Preference may be given to applicants with:

      • Experience in the natural resources sector.
      • Experience with financial and revenue administration.
      • Professional accounting designation CPA – CA, CGA, CMA, issued by a Canadian Accounting Association. Note: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.

      About this Position:
      This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Finance offices: Abbotsford, Campbell River, Cranbrook, Fort Nelson, Hope, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Nelson, Prince George, Smithers, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria, Williams Lake.
      An eligibility list my be established.
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
      Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
