      Duties


      As an Economist, you will:
      -Lead and determine the nature and the scope of necessary econometric and statistical analyses; determines time parameters, necessary data acquisition and treatment, and appropriate statistical methodologies; and directs contractors providing analytical services.
      -Independently prepare memoranda, statistical reports, briefing papers, and other written materials in support of internal determinations of violations of fair housing or other civil rights authorities, in support of Departmental policy making, or for outside publication.
      -Ensure that analytical products include a statement of methodology or reference to a methodological volume or report and ensures that evidentiary databases are well-documented.
      -Design and lead training for housing investigators on the planning and conduct of fair housing investigations, particularly provides instructions on collecting, reviewing, and evaluating data.

      Qualifications


      You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

      Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

      - Experience using economic principles, statistical methods, and relevant data to conduct research that extends or refines existing methodologies or approaches. AND
      - Experience formulating, planning, and guiding economic or statistical studies. AND
      - Experience using quantitative and qualitative methods and techniques for the development and use of econometric or statistical models in fair housing or fair lending.

      Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
