      SUMMARY:
      Running Press, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, is a leading publisher of illustrated books, stationery, and mini kits in the categories of Body, Mind & Spirit, Gift & Popular Culture, Food & Drink, Entertainment, Lifestyle, and Licensed Publishing. We are seeking an Editorial Assistant to support our Publisher, Editorial Directors, and editorial department. This is an entry-level role, but one with opportunities for learning and growth.u00A0

      u00A0ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:u00A0u00A0u00A0u00A0u00A0
      • Interact professionally with authors and literary agents,u00A0as well as internal departments within Running Press and HBG, including design, publicity, marketing, production, and sales.u00A0
      • Prepare materials for and traffic editorial projects through all stages of the editorial process from acquisition through finished book.
      • Enter title data into proprietary database systems and maintain data throughout publishing process.
      • Draft and circulate contract forms, process payments, and place and track shipping requests.
      • Draft descriptive copy and fact sheets that will be used to explain books to the sales and marketing departments, as well as consumers.
      • Attend andu00A0take notesu00A0foru00A0editorial meetings, and attend marketing and sales meetings as required.
      • Review book proposals from literary agents and authors and discuss with editorial team.
      • Research book sales using internal and external databases.
      • Participate in brainstorming meetings and share ideas for books and related products.
      • Perform administrative duties, including: scheduling, photocopying, handling mail, filing, directing/responding to inquiries, ordering office supplies, maintaining book archives, miscellaneous research projects, etc.

      The compensation range for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location u2014 talk with your recruiter to learn more.
