      Reuters is looking for an Editorial Intern to join our Singapore Bureau. You will work alongside our Chief Correspondent to produce world-class business journalism. Working hours are from Mondays to Fridays, between 9am to 6pm.

      Successful candidate is expected to commit the full period from January - June 2025.

      Only penultimate year undergraduates based in Singapore and does not require visa sponsorship for full-time internship shall be considered.

      About the Role
      As an Editorial Intern, you will:

      • Receive training on how to monitor Singapore news and from there, learning the valuable skill of identifying news that interest international media/how to report from a global perspective
      • Be exposed to and given opportunities to work on a breadth of stories, from macroeconomics to politics, housing, crime, defence and geopolitics
      • Be able to pitch and work on their initiative stories – that can have a multimedia aspect - and receive guidance on angling and introduction to contacts
      • Opportunities to work with other departments at Reuters such as TV and pix, and collaborate with global markets/commodities desks on stories
      • Attend events where they get to meet and build on their network of newsmakers
      • Learn how Reuters takes breaking news from snaps to urgents and updates, including when and how to update/recontextualise a story
      • Learn what would and wouldn’t make for a snap, as well as learning how to write and send a snap (from embargoed reports so there’s no time pressure)
      • Attend Reuters training such as the breaking news drill
      • Opportunities to cover key economic indicators like inflation data and trade data
      • Be part of the monetary policy team, learning how the bureau prepares with prewrites for multiple scenarios and contributing to the prewrites


      About You
      As an Editorial Intern, you should possess:

      • Excellent written English; knowledge of Asian languages preferential
      • Familiarity with political and general news in Singapore
      • News judgment, ability to write with speed, clarity and accuracy
      • Proven ability to report and execute initiative stories
      • Willingness to do legwork and be a team player
