What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct research on designated topics using primary scientific literature and high-quality data sources
- Summarize complex scientific information into concise and accessible formats for editorial products
- Pitch news topics to the editorial team that require scientific context
- Assist with editorial content production tasks, including fact-checking and web production
- Collaborate with the Manager of Journalism Projects & Multimedia on various projects

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a university/college (science majors preferred)
- Familiarity with scientific literature and the ability to evaluate scientific evidence
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent writing and science communication skills
- Enthusiasm for the societal role of news media is a plus

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in research or science communication
- Knowledge of current scientific issues, particularly in climate impacts and infectious diseases
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
