      Summary

      Supervise the operation of the DOC, including the coordination of routine and emergency switching and service restoration to maintain optimum system operating conditions. Ensure proper communication to the appropriate supervisors, managers and function level management,

      Key Roles & Responsibilities

      Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent:

      • Ensures that all safety procedures involved in the dispatch operation are followed at all times to protect the public, company personnel and equipment.

      • Supervises, maintains and monitors the integrity of the electric distribution system including the direction of all restoration activities within the area of responsibility with the principal front line responsibility during after hours, weekends and holidays.

      · Oversees daily planned and unplanned switching activities are executed according to DOC procedure.

      • Develops and maintains lines of communication between the DOC and internal and external stakeholders regarding DOC operations including emergency and management level notifications.

      · Ensures proper record keeping and corrections and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

      • Provides for training, coaching and job related experience in support of employee growth and development. Responsible for tracking operator training progression.

      • Assists in the development of standard operating procedure documents, training and other DOC operations as necessary and ensures adherence to standard operating procedures in the dispatch operation.

      • Supports system and process improvement initiatives and actively contributes to the development and implementation of new operational systems and processes

      • Participates in cross-functional initiatives and projects to contribute operational expertise and process alignment

      • Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements

      Education, Experience, & Skills

      The minimum education:

      • High School diploma or GED, technical degree preferred

      The minimum experience:

      • Five years of relevant transmission or distribution experience, preferred.

      • Advanced knowledge of company operations, policies, procedures and systems.

      • Demonstrated strong leadership characteristics

      The minimum skills:

      • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills

      • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

      • Able to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks

      • Advanced knowledge of Oncor Electric Delivery Safety Handbook

      • Understanding of Oncor operational systems (DMS and TMS), preferred

      Measures of Success

      • Able to effectively develop trust and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders both within the DOC and external

      • Proactively communicates with DOC stakeholders both verbally and in writing

      • Able to provide guidance and tracking for operator training and development

      • Successful contribution to Company Goals and Objectives

      • Able to manage activity within the DOC control room to ensure operational metrics are met

      • Able to adapt quickly to changing technology, processes, and procedures

      • Available for call-out
