- Evaluating current training needs;
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of CCRU training and knowledge transfer strategies, making appropriate updates to educational programs and curricula as required;
- Evaluating clinical research information being provided to users;
- Overseeing the development and implementation of an orientation pathway for the oncology clinical research community to ensure that clinical research personnel are adequately prepared for their roles;
- Developing and coordinating clinical research curricula and overseeing student internships from Clinical Research Programs (i.e. Michener); coaching, training and supporting managers by providing training;
- Knowledge transfer consultant services and support provider for the CCRU information technology group in the development and roll out of new clinical research applications;
- Performing cross-functional responsibilities as required;
- Administers and oversees CCRU elearning platform and other duties as, assigned and/or required.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the clinical research infrastructure for the clinical research coordination community at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and UHN CRUs as applicable. This position will utilize the knowledge of clinical study management to carry out clinical research continuing education activities to program staff and support professional growth and development of clinical study staff through mentoring to achieve an overall awareness with regards to the use of program specific study tools, processes and practices to improve the overall conduct and quality of clinical research.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Adult Education, Behavioural Sciences, Clinical Research Administration, Health Sciences, Business Administration or recognized equivalent,
- Minimum four (4) years appropriate clinical and/or professional experience
- Experience teaching adult learners/training and development required
- Experience working in academic/healthcare environment required
- Experience with change management is an asset
- High proficiency with Microsoft programs is required
- Technical writing or editing experience is required
- Learning managements systems and elearning software such as Articulate suite is preferred
- Clinical Research Program diploma, preferable(Humber, Seneca, or equivalent)
- Recognized certification in clinical research, preferable (ACRP or SOCRA)
- Experience with clinical research data collection, monitoring, audits and CAPA plans
- Well-developed skills in leadership, problem solving and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to express complex technical concepts effectively in written and verbal form
- Demonstrated ability to perform planning, design, execution and evaluation of training deliverables
- Well-developed team building skills and working with interdisciplinary team members
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and customer relations
- Ability to liaise with Investigators, Directors, External Stakeholders and Vendors with high level of professionalism
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand

Position Summary
The Cancer Clinical Research Unit has a mandate to lead and promote clinical research within the Princess Margaret Cancer Program through standardization of processes and encouraging a culture of responsibility and accountability in clinical trials. The Education Lead is a key component of the Cancer Clinical Research Unit, enabling the delivery of educational products and services to the oncology research community, clinical research professional and externally as applicable.
