What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct oversight of academic institutions, including reviewing advertisements, student complaints, and conducting student interviews
- Complete risk-based survey visits (RBSV) to assess institutions and training programs
- Provide facility findings reports to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)
- Analyze data and evaluate institutional information to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Assist in planning and implementing outreach activities to promote veterans' education and training programs

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree with five years of related education or training experience, OR Master's Degree with three years of related experience, OR Doctoral Degree with one year of related experience
- Knowledge of applicable statutory laws and regulations governing the State Approving Agency (SAA)
- Experience working with VA database systems and veteran education benefits
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license and be able to drive for state business

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience as a school certifying official in a higher education environment
- Prior experience working in a regulatory capacity or in the legal field
- Familiarity with personal computer programs including MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suites
