Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel, a Fortune 100 Company and recently named Fortune’s best workplace in Manufacturing and Production is seeking candidates for our internship program in our Auburn, NY location . The successful candidate will possess a basic knowledge of electrical principles.

Planned projects are listed, but not limited to:

• Develop a thorough and comprehensive understanding of electrical safety
• Work alongside Nucor electricians performing preventive and corrective maintenance
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the various control systems throughout the Rolling mill & Melt shop
• Data collection for Arc Flash studies and CMMS implementation

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Participation in a course of study in Electrical Technology, with an emphasis on 3 phase power and/or circuit analysis and control systems.
• GPA of 3.0 or better in Electrical Courses
• Written recommendation from advisor
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferences:

• Second year student
• Completion of a safety course(s)
• Practical work experience
