      Our Terra Nova team has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer! If you are an experienced professional in this field, we may have the perfect opportunity for you.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent with 10+ years' experience
      • Fully competent in advanced Electrical and Instrumentation related techniques/ procedures
      • Able to influence long range business plans and the impact of technological change
      • Experience in electrical safety, power generation/distribution, small power equipment, heat trace and electric motors
      • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial process instrumentation, fire and gas detection equipment, metering systems, safety instrumented systems, hazardous locations and control valves
      • Knowledge and experience in environmental, safety and loss prevention process and practices
      • Proven planning, communication (presentation and technical writing), and continuous improvement / engineering skills required to deliver overall value
      • Computer fluent MS/Office and experience with SAP

      Responsibilities:

      • Maintains Electrical and Instrumentation asset criticality rankings and asset strategies, including maintenance plan routines and associated check sheets
      • Ensures regulatory requirements are included in asset strategies
      • Provides technical support on electrical and instrumentation issues as required including Process Hazard Assessments (PHA)
      • Maintains Terra Nova FPSO electrical and instrumentation discipline documents
      • Provides technical support and input to project teams on electrical and instrumentation issues, including project design reviews, technical specifications, and equipment selection
      • Creates and updates material master data for electrical and instrumentation equipment, material, and components for the Terra Nova FPSO
      • Develops, Maintains, and optimizes Safety Critical Element performance standards, as well as creates associated Safety Critical Element (SCE) reports
      • Manages Terra Nova Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
      • Coordinates with regulatory affairs group for interface with all regulatory bodies including C-NLOPB, Transport Canada and Lloyd’s Register
      • Supports Regulatory Query Form (RQF) development and regulatory queries/observations in cooperation with Operations support group
      • Resolves electrical and instrumentation related technical queries and develops management of change documentation as required
      • Drives continuous improvement in contractor performance and provides commercial support e.g., contract adherence, statement of work generation, and invoice verification
      • Supports the Reliability Manager in planning, prioritization, and execution of work-scopes
      • Provides guidance to Operations / Electrical and instrumentation maintenance personnel as required
      • Makes recommendations that affect safety and production on the Terra Nova FPSO

      Location and other Key Details:

      • You will work out of the Suncor Centre Offices located at 130 Kelsey Drive, St. John’s, Newfoundland
      • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extra time based on project requirements
      • Periodic trips to the Terra Nova FPSO may be required
