- You will provide design and technical expertise in Electrical Engineering.
- You will review plans, specifications, cost estimates, project documents, and reports for completeness, technical adequacy, functional design, sound engineering practice, and compliance with NAVFAC/DoD criteria and all other applicable codes.
- You will provide the necessary advice and decisions required at the beginning of work and as problems develop, and represents NAVFAC Mid-Lant in conferences involving work within this responsibility.
- You will conduct field investigation to verify existing conditions and apply to design for renovation projects.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This position requires current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes when making site visits, as determined by site conditions and applicable safety regulations.

This position has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF) that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must possess a current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is required. NOTE: YOU MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION WITH YOUR APPLICATION.
In addition to the SPF and Basic Education Requirement for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Leading production of facilities electrical engineering design packages, including design drawings, plans, specifications and design-build requests for proposal; 2) Reviewing shore facilities electrical engineering design submittals to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations to officials; 3) Providing shore facilities electrical engineering design consultation services to officials during construction; and 4) Mentoring junior electrical engineers.
