- 100% of the costs covered by the City and County of Denver for those with good grades and attendance.
- 8,000 hours of paid on-the-job training.
- Wage increases each year, along with progressive levels of responsibility.
- Working with experienced members of the team to gain knowledge of Service, Commercial, and Industrial plumbing.
- Must maintain a 2.0 GPA and above during the entire duration of school.
- Assist licensed electricians on projects and tasks.
- Use of hand and power tools.
- Install electrical conduit.
- Install new electrical equipment.
- Pull and terminate wire.
- Identify and repair defective equipment.
- Relamp light fixtures.
- Document works hours and tasks.
- Learn common electrical material.
- Learns to identify, use and maintain tools and equipment used in the trade.
- Trains in and complies with standard safety rules and procedures common to the trade.
- Trains In keeping routine records, writing reports and completing forms.

- Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: One (1) year of work experience
- Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of work experience.
- License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
- Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
About Our Job
Denver International Airport is seeking a skilled Electrician Apprentice to join our Trades Program. This individual will serve in a formal, four-year training program as a skilled trades apprentice, participates in on-the-job training and classroom instruction and learns the methods, procedures, tools and equipment to become a journeyman carpenter, electrician, heavy equipment mechanic, HVAC specialist, painter and plumber.

By position, may be required to be on-call to address emergent needs.
If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays). *
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Employees may be re-deployed to work in other capacities in their own agencies or in other City agencies to support core functions of the City during a City-wide emergency declared by the Mayor.
Any one position may not include all of the duties listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent in performing the essential duties listed above.

Schedule: This is a full time position, working 5 8 hour days.

After completing four years in our apprenticeship program, DEN apprentices can test for their Journeyman License.

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
