      POSITION SUMMARY:The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

      TYPICAL DUTIES:1. *Determines the location and density of circuitry, evaluates electromagnetic radiation, isolates malfunctions and incorporates engineering changes.2. *Exercises independent judgment and performs tasks such as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms and tracing relationships in signal flow.3. *Uses complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers and complex computer control equipment.4. *Follows procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.5. *Performs corrective and preventive maintenance, non-routine repair, modification, and troubleshooting, calibration, removal and installation of complex electronic systems and equipment.6. *Tests and calibrates electronic equipment using established test procedures; operates diagnostic test equipment , function generators, oscilloscopes, transmission measuring test sets, meters, and other devices required to maintain electronic systems and equipment; utilizes various schematics, blueprints, wire lists, equipment manuals, and other resources.7. Inspects newly installed equipment including circuits and systems to evaluate performance under operating conditions; may assist in the design fabrication, testing, and evaluation of prototypes.8. *Maintains records of work performed; develops documentation for the maintenance installation, removal and modification of electronic systems and equipment.9. *Operates special hand and power tools, such as soldering equipment, drill press grinder, crimper, saws, wire-rap tools, and other related equipment.10. *Inspects, maintains and repairs network communication systems, supervisory control, remote signal and remote control equipment, instrumentation and control systems.11. *Inspects, maintains and repairs radio, fire alarm and security systems, video equipment, digital electronic equipment, telemetering, communication, protective relays, meters and other electronic and auxiliary apparatus.12. Instructs and advises other personnel on maintenance procedures; compose work records, documentation for maintenance; apply safety procedures in the course of work13. *Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum five years’ experience and knowledge of electronic theory, electrical principles and laws and schematic reading.• Preferred vocational training or higher degree of study/diploma in the electronic field.• Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time, and adapt to changing work priorities.• Ability to estimate time and materials, and manage resources.• Ability to offer guidance to lower level technicians.• Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately.• Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and to follow instructions.• Flexibility to build effective working relationships with staff, customers and others.• Ability to travel to various on-site facilities, and to work independently and as a team."

      EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or GEDTechnical/other training CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED: The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:Valid Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: • Using fine motor coordination, concentration, and good vision to differentiate between colors• Bending, kneeling, and stooping, and maneuvering in and around work areas • May lift or move boxes or equipment up to 50 pounds• Working in confined spaces• Climbing ladders WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed primarily in an office environment with limited privacy and exposure to noise from others conducting business. The remainder of work is performed on job sites in the field, driving to and from worksite. Employees may be exposed to hazardous equipment, toxic substances, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
