Are you interested in quickly expanding your engineering knowledge through hands-on experience? Do you enjoy working in and around the water? If so, you should explore Jacobs’ Engineer-Dive Group?

At Jacobs, we have one of the largest groups of Engineering-Divers in the industry and provide the opportunity to work on impactful projects for clients world-wide.

By joining Jacobs, as an engineer diver, you will participate in above and underwater inspections for a wide variety of ports and maritime, highway, rail, wind energy and water clients. This role provides a unique and challenging perspective on projects, with the opportunity for you to fill a wide number of roles through the life of each project. As an engineer diver you will get hands-on asset management experience with an extensive variety of waterfront structures in all stages of their life cycles, developing expertise in deterioration of different materials as well as design and constructability of structural rehabilitation, preventative maintenance, and new structures. Working at the cutting edge of our industry, you’ll have the opportunity to employ our in-house Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drones) to augment in-person inspections.

Once the inspection is complete, you’ll develop project deliverables, contribute to the design of repairs or replacement structures, and provide quality assurance and resident engineering services during construction. Each project offers unique challenges and opportunities to implement creative and innovative solutions. Additionally, you will be challenged to grow professionally by working collaboratively with our global ports team in client presentations and proposal efforts.

Based out of New York City, one of the world’s most historic and dynamic waterfronts, Jacobs Engineer-Dive teams supports numerous clients throughout the Northeast United States. As a member of Jacobs’ Ports and Maritime Community of Practice (ENR ranked #1), you’ll also have frequent opportunities to travel abroad in support of a multitude of international clients.

Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.
