      Basic Job Function:

      This position is responsible for working with and directing a team of maintenance and administrative professionals to ensure the property is in excellent condition for our guests, members and staff. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

      Use of Company Vehicle: You will be expected to drive company vehicles - Class A.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Minimum of three to five 5 year's experience in facility maintenance or a comparable field required
      • Experience working for a four or five diamond/star property preferred
      • Experience in painting, carpentry, furniture, closures and masonry; detailed trade development in all areas, with expertise in any two areas
      • High School Diploma or equivalent credentials preferred
      • College or technical degree preferred
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
      • Must have minimum of 5 Years HVAC experience.
      • Proficient in Adaco and HotSOS programs is preferred
      • Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
      • Valid Georgia Driver’s License
      • Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review

      Tasks/Responsibilities:

      • Daily manager responsibilities within the Engineering Department. Focus will be support in existing Sea Island facilities Hotel guestrooms, and associated Public areas
      • Supervises the engineering employees, assigns work orders, directs resources, accepts quality of product and releases room and guest contact areas for use by effected departments
      • Where required leads the delivery of the Daily Service Quality meeting, including review of logs and operational checks, assignment of tasks involving maintenance or other special engineering projects
      • Coordinates engineers responsible for special events involving banquets or catering activities, or functions
      • Coordinates the accomplishment of the Rooms Preventive Maintenance program. Interfaces with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Restaurant Managers, and Catering & Conference Services to maintain areas of responsibility, reflecting occupancy, anticipated use
      • Responsible for the operational condition of guest rooms and public room finishes. Finishes includes all fabrics, carpet, wall coverings and substrates, furnishings, painted surfaces, masonry finishes cabinetry, seals, caulks, windows, doors and latch and key, closers, flooring of all types, and specialty finishes of outfitted goods
      • Coordinates necessary expertise and support from other engineering elements such as tradesman, administrative assistance, manpower and other expertise as required
      • Trains, directs and evaluates performance of technicians supporting technical support areas
      • Responds to guest comment cards, Guest Problem Resolution complaints, HotSOS or other work order system calls and other documentation regarding finishes
      • Assist direct Supervisor with work and task scheduling, effective use of all resources at shifts and special projects
      • Maintains stores, material support, tooling, shop equipment, safety equipment, Personal Protective Equipment and other resources to accomplish assigned tasks
      • Supervisory level guest contact responsibilities, faces guests in difficult situations ensuring that repair or other engineering related issues involving repairs are at expectations of the highest caliber of service
      • Able to make be a hands-on Manager and complete repairs to guest rooms, bathrooms, lighting, kitchen equipment, HVAC&R or related equipment is desirable
      • Responsible for scheduling of staff and assuring shifts are covered at all times.
      • First response and on call responsibility for hotel or related failures or distressed conditions. Cell phone or smart phone will be assigned.
      • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability
      • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
      • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
      • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
      • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
      • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
      • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
      • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
      • Must be able to work up and down ladders, walkways, stairwells, and work in cramped, closed or confined areas
      • If applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
      • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
      • Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 100 lbs intermittently throughout a shift and 50 lbs over the head
      • Ability to work with repetitive motion in upright standing positions repeatedly throughout a shift
      • Must not be allergic to exposure to chemicals exposed to in operations of trade with appropriate and functioning PPE in use
      • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
      • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
