Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Technician to perform visual inspections of roadway conditions in various sections of an assigned district. You will document your findings using a tablet, addressing issues such as drainage problems, vegetation overgrowth, damaged signs, guardrails, fencing, and faded roadway markings. Reports must be submitted in real-time while on the road, adhering to company and DOT safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of roadway conditions within the assigned district.
• Document findings using a tablet, including issues such as drainage problems, vegetation overgrowth, and damaged infrastructure.
• Submit inspection reports in real-time while on the road.
• Plan weekly inspection schedules in coordination with the City/County Inspector.
• Abide by company and DOT safety standards at all times.

• Knowledge of highway and transportation standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as an inspector, field technician, CMT, or materials tester.
• Familiarity with GDOT standards and requirements.
• References that can attest to the candidate's ability to work alone and their work ethic.

Work Environment

The work environment is 100% in the field, operating out of a company-provided truck. Travel is limited to the assigned district with no overnight travel required. The company provides all necessary equipment, including vehicles, fuel cards, phones, and protective clothing such as boot vouchers, heavy-duty jackets, reflective shirts, and anti-sun gear. The position offers a solid entry into the civil industry with steady, year-round work and opportunities for long-term employment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
