Open until filled - Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the Academies of Hampton Extended Learning Program PK8 School grant, including activities, calendar of events, budget, program development, and annual reports for the assigned high school
- Collaborate with educators and community partners to vision, align, plan, organize, and facilitate the implementation of the extension of the Academies of Hampton to the K8 schools
- Identify and design professional development needs to successfully transform and implement the alignment of the work based learning continuum between the middle and high schools
- Vision, align, plan, and implement family awareness and engagement opportunities for the middle school transformation
- Lead and organize community participation in the Academies of Hampton (AOH) by developing integrated relationships with businesses, postsecondary, and community partners
- Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and other school personnel to ensure that work based learning experiences become embedded in the school culture
- Develop, vision, and align division- and building-level student experiences aligned with the work based learning continuum
- Collect, interpret, and analyze data relevant to improving work based learning opportunities for students
- Work collaboratively and in partnership with the Academy team to establish community-connected, interdisciplinary learning experiences (e.g., project-based learning, challenge-based learning)
- Develop and maintain program monitoring reports and databases for the Virginia Department of Education and Hampton City Schools leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or education-related field required; Master’s degree in a related field preferred
- Three years of experience in coordinating and planning multiple projects, assignments, activities, and/or events preferred
- Three years of experience working with businesses, community agencies, and/or postsecondary institutions preferred
- Three years of experience in strategic planning
- Innovative thinker with the ability to work collaboratively and independently preferred
- Working knowledge of college and career readiness preparation and labor market demands and requirements
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Advanced in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspaces preferred
- Strong background in managing multiple projects and duties and/or coordination of events and activities preferred
- Expertise in project management and monitoring systems and structures
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize data
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work independently
- Working knowledge of business hiring and postsecondary education acceptance requirements

POSITION INFORMATION:
Location: Academies of Hampton Supervisor: Director of the Academies of Hampton Employment Period/Schedule: 12 Months; flexible hours to include after-school, weekends, and school breaks Employment Status: 2 Full-time, grant-funded positions (funded through June 2025 with the possibility of a two-year extension) Salary: $65,000 flat rate Start Date: Immediately
POSITION DESCRIPTION :
The Academies of Hampton - Enrichment Learning Coordinator is responsible for visioning, aligning, and designing community-connected enrichment opportunities that support the implementation of the Academies of Hampton community-connected work-based learning continuum. The member will work alongside the Academies of Hampton team to operationalize the curriculum and business partner integration efforts. The position will administer and implement the Virginia Department of Education Extended Learning grant, ensuring programmatic alignment and sustainable integrated structures. As an Academies of Hampton team member, the high visibility position is a liaison among faculty, students, families, business and community partners, and district leadership.Position goal: To help design, align, sustain, and implement enriched learning experiences to support the mission of the Academies of Hampton: To prepare students for success in careers, lifelong learning, and life.
