      Get to know the business

      AIG’s Enterprise Resiliency organization is responsible for preparing AIG businesses for the loss of personnel, facilities, and technology by following pre-defined management approved policies and standards. The Enterprise Resiliency program partners with Security, Technology, Our Businesses, and other support functions to respond to disruptive events and to help restore both technology and business process capabilities within predetermined timeframes. The resiliency strategies focus on detailed plans and operating procedures for those processes required for the financial and operational health of AIG and its clients.

      About the role

      The purpose of the Enterprise Resiliency Senior Resiliency Officer role is to drive and maintain an effective program that safeguards AIG’s assets and operations from real or potential threats and vulnerabilities of any type. This individual contributor role with matrix management across the organization will develop a deep understanding of business functions and technology employed across the globe, working with Enterprise Resiliency Officers as well as Corporate functional stakeholder resources (Technology, Operations, Finance, HR, etc.) to drive the continual evolution of AIG’s Resiliency capabilities. This includes regulatory rules compliance, recoverability from disruptions to our facilities, technology, third parties, and our employees and extensive testing to validate our Resiliency plans.

      What you need to know

      • Own and drive Resiliency work required to manage the Business Continuity strategies for some of our highest priority business units in the Americas region (covering ~10,000 employees located in ~100 offices in US, Canada, Bermuda, and Latin America).

      • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and coach on all aspects of Enterprise Resiliency including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery in the region.

      • Deliver all guidance, training, and QA for development of BIAs (Business Impact Analysis), Resiliency strategies and plan documents to respective Business Continuity Coordinators / Disaster Recovery Coordinators.

      • Partner with business points of contact to confirm all BIAs (Business Impact Analysis) properly identify each AIG process dependency on AIG’s highest priority third party-driven service and where and who performs each activity.

      • Develop appropriate resiliency activities and exercise them (working remotely, work transfer, physical recovery seating) to validate solutions and plans have been adequately tested and gaps are identified and tracked until remediation is complete.

      • Support Enterprise Resiliency team’s facilitation of DR physical testing so DR exercises meet our Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) – there are >1,000 applications needing annual DR testing.

      • Ensure all Business Continuity are adhering to Enterprise Resiliency policies and standards and compliance obligations.

      • Maintain close partnership with AIG stakeholders (typically grades 20-26, some 27+) who operate in chief of staff or business management roles who manage risk and operations for each business unit.

      • Facilitate regularly scheduled scenario tabletop exercises with our partners at the highest priority third parties to simulate potential disruptions that measure the sufficiency of our Resiliency strategies – this will regularly include senior business and technical leaders at L3 and L4 levels, with some L2 Executive Committee member direct engagement (CIO, CTO, CRO, CFO, Head of Operations & Shared Services, etc).

      • Draft and maintain Incident Management Plans specific to the AIG partnership with the highest priority third parties (incident monitoring / detection / triage, business RTO’s, communication workflow, etc) – this would cover Resiliency expectations for delivery for the 10,000+ vendor staff AIG depends on.

      • Familiarity with the evolving regulatory framework and rule changes particularly with Operational Resilience.

      • Contribute towards third-party due diligence activities specific to the assessment of vendor’s resiliency-related controls.

      • Mentor less experienced Resiliency Officers and Incident Managers as part of team and role development.

      What we're looking for

      • 15+ years professional experience in financial services, insurance, technology, disaster recovery or business continuity

      • Experience planning, developing, and implementing firm-wide IT platforms in large, complex organizations

      • Strong understanding and knowledge of processes and technologies relevant to responsibilities

      • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, and proven interpersonal skills

      • Experience in working in large, matrixed, and geographically dispersed organizations

      • Ability to work independently to deliver multiple, potentially competing, priorities and assignments

      • Be available during off hours and willingness to travel to regional facilities as necessary

      • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office suit

      • Ability to work in office-type environment

      • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience with industry recognized Professional Certification (preferred)

      Nice to have:

      • Experience with industry BC/DR/IM tools such as ServiceNow BCM, Archer eGRC, Everbridge (or similar) highly preferred

      • Experience in outsourcing and third-party risk management

      • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint

      • Demonstrated ability to drive change through influence

      • Ability to define solutions and make decisions in ambiguous situations

      • DRII or similar industry certification

      • For positions based in Jersey City, the base salary range is $109,000-$152,000. For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $113,700-$159,000. For positions based Los Angeles, CA, the base salary range is $109,000-$152,000.In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
