      General Description:

      We are looking for a Senior Finance Professional to join our Finance team in Warsaw, Poland. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional who is motivated to contribute to setting up the finance function as BeiGene builds out its presence around the world. The position will deal with a broad range of accounting and controlling topics for the legal entities assigned. The incumbent must bring strong US GAAP and local GAAP knowledge combined with a strong knowledge of SAP, S/4 Hana preferred. The incumbent must take the lead to deal with both strategic and operational process tasks and enhancements, having a hands-on approach of accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely closings. Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are required to coordinate the activities of outsourced services and collaborate with colleagues in the US, Europe, and Asia. As a valuable resource to the organization the incumbent is pro-active and brings strong analytical - and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in helping build a structured efficient environment in a hybrid work model.

      This role will be responsible for the following duties for our legal entities in Italy, Spain, Portugal & Romania. We also have a similar role available looking after our New Markets ( South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Israel, UAE & Turkey)

      This role has a hybrid working pattern 3 days a week in our Warsaw office (located in central Warsaw) and 2 days remote

      We have two of these roles available one for our Iberian and one for our New Markets, all candidates will be considered for both positions.

      Essential Functions of the job:

      • Coordinate and lead the accounting processes and activities for assigned European entities ensuring GL accuracy and completeness, supporting the monthly financial close process, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
      • Obtain an understanding of each legal entity’s Gross to Net Revenue methodology, ensuring proper revenue recording, working with 3PL and local finance directors to ensure accruals and reconciliations are also properly maintained.
      • Co-ordinate, in markets where applicable, the accounting of our third-party logistics partner interacting with FP&A and Inventory Management stakeholders as appropriate.
      • Support the execution of assigned SOX controls in a timely manner.
      • Act as primary point of contact for our auditors (EY) for legal entities assigned.
      • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts for assigned legal entities, ensuring appropriate communication and coordination of activities with Legal, Tax and FP&A departments too.
      • Oversee the reconciliation between US GAAP and Local GAAP ledgers, and understand the statutory adjustments and other local requirements that lead to the final Statutory Financial Statements.
      • Manage the relationship with the local accounting outsourcing partner.
      • Partner with the FP&A team members to ensure the appropriate quality and integrity of financial information is upheld, in addition to keeping up to date with business developments in the assigned entities.
      • Perform operational treasury tasks as needed such as bank account fundings, IC settlement and capital injection, collaborating with the Treasury team and FP&A team as required
      • Ensure all payroll data prepared by outsourcing partner/Payroll Teams are accurately booked in SAP
      • Ensure that any manual Journal Entries are properly recorded with supporting backup in the accounting system, and align as applicable with Management, Corporate and FP&A on any adjustments needed
      • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and ERP system changes
      • Share best practices and provide operational assistance on Accounting and SAP topics
      • Stay updated with all changes ongoing in the BeiGene organization, and provide appropriate guidance to Business and other stakeholders on accounting processes and best practices


      Requirements:

      • Accounting/Business/Finance bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience from a multinational accounting environment, Accounting Shared Service Centre experience required, in a similar role such as Financial Controller, Chief Accountant, GL Team Lead/ Manager) (Big 4 and/or healthcare experience a plus);
      • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing (currently unstructured) environment in a hybrid work model.
      • Excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity; ability to demonstrate proactivity and initiative combined with entrepreneurial resourcefulness; ability to prioritize competing challenges.
      • Excellent spoken/written English – any other languages from the supported region a plus
