      We are looking to hire key members of our Chemical Production team at our Dover, OH location, which has been a fixture in the Tuscarawas County area since 1919.       Starting rate of pay is $30.09 per hour.

      Job Summary:

      The entry level chemical production employee works in outdoor chemical process operations using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other automated systems. Chemical Production team members perform diverse and manual tasks as assigned but which may include production processes, housekeeping, drumming, and loading/unloading of trucks. Work shifts are rotational and include both 8- and 12-hour shifts, some day and night shifts, some weekends, and some holidays.

      Critical Physical requirements include the ability to generally lift floor to waist 50 lbs., sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, stair climbing, ladder climbing, both hand manipulations, operating of heavy equipment which require vision, peripheral, depth perception, and auditory functions within normal ranges. Comfort with working at heights is also required.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements.
      • Report all Health, Safety, and Environmental accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly and act in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
      • Safely operate equipment to control chemical changes or reactions in the processing of Kraton products.
      • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
      • Adjust equipment control settings and record data.
      • Process sampling and field analysis as required.
      • Monitor processes and perform routine area surveillances.
      • Lubricate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
      • Prepare equipment for maintenance and inspect completed maintenance work with craft workers.
      • Move raw and processed materials.
      • Perform routine safety equipment checks and other audits.
      • Operate and maintain packaging equipment.

      Required Skills

      • Good verbal and written communication skills; must be fluent in reading/writing English.
      • Ability to effectively work on shift teams and work overtime as needed.
      • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
      • Trouble shooting, ability to utilize critical thinking, sound decision making, and disciplined problem solving.
      • Knowledge of machines and tools, with demonstrated mechanical ability preferred.
      • Experience in chemical manufacturing, industrial manufacturing or processing preferred.
      • Additional consideration for preferred candidates includes certification in IATA, IMDG, DOT or Chemical Operator certification.

      Education, Certifications & Licenses

      • High School Diploma or GED required.
