- Conduct field assessments, including site visits, visual inspections, measurements, and photographs.
- Write detailed field reports based on assessments.
- Support design work for power distribution projects.
- Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices.
- Design and plan the replacement of deteriorated cables and aging equipment.
- Assist in moving overhead lines to underground and reconductoring existing distribution lines.
- Graduation from a four-year ABET accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Willingness to work outside in Florida's elements.
- Willingness to drive to project sites between Spring Hill and Tallahassee.
- Basic knowledge of concepts in the electric utility industry.
- Understanding of primary and secondary distribution systems, utility standards, and general construction knowledge.
- Proficiency in design software packages.
- Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
- Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, and present findings.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and initiative.
- Experience or basic knowledge of the electric utility industry.
- Ability to deal with individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Interest in Power/Energy/Utilities.
- Experience with Bentley Open Utility Designer, BOUD, Smallworld, Maximo, Pole Load, and AutoCAD.

Job Title: Entry Level Field Engineer
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Junior Level Engineer to join our team in Florida. This individual will support power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects across the state. The primary responsibility of this position is field assessments, involving site visits, visual inspections, measurements, photographs, and writing field reports. When not performing fieldwork, the engineer will support design work, including engineering calculations and design for replacing deteriorated cable, moving overhead lines to underground, reconductoring existing distribution lines, and replacing aging equipment.

Work Environment
This position is fully remote and field-based, with Levy County being the ideal central location. You will work from home and in the field 80% of the time. Our team supports the largest power utility in the country and other utilities as well. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
