- Design, model, and analyze prototypes for new products.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) and SolidWorks to design concepts.
- Conduct research and create design proposals for projects.
- Establish design briefs.
- Create concepts, performance, and production criteria.
- Identify and select materials needed for production.
- Produce final detail design drawings and specifications.
- Create parts lists.
- List costs involved in production.
- Make prototypes of working models for demonstration.
- Proficiency in design and SolidWorks.
- Mechanical engineering knowledge.

- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Schenectady, NY is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team!
Job Description
The Design Engineer is responsible for researching and developing ideas and processes for both new and existing products. The role involves improving the performance and design of existing products as well.

Work Environment
The role involves working Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM in a casual dress code environment. The team comprises 40 employees, including 3 engineers. The position offers all paid bank holidays, including Good Friday and Black Friday, and is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on candidate and company performance, which is paid in December
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $67000.00/yr.

- The position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on candidate and company performance which is paid in December.
- All paid bank holidays, plus Good Friday and Black Friday.
- 2 weeks PTOWorkplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Schenectady,NY.
