- Perform tests and sampling of asbestos, building materials, and various environmental media.
- Assist with asbestos, mold, and other industrial hygiene surveys and abatement/remediation projects.
- Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM Standard E1527-21.
- Tabulate and prepare data for written reports.
- Adhere to strict safety standards.
- Independently perform non-routine field testing on a variety of projects.
- Sample suspect asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with AHERA guidelines.
- Perform oversight and air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects.
- Perform soil and groundwater monitoring and sampling.
- Review previous assessment reports, historical and regulatory records for the property.
- Conduct interviews with appropriate project stakeholders and government officials.
- Write reports that accurately convey the environmental assessment and provide exhibits and photos.
- Obtain site access, public and private utility clearance, and coordinate with various project stakeholders.
- Schedule drillers, laboratories, and other subcontractors for Phase II or Industrial Hygiene work.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
- Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology.
- 0-1 year of experience in Project Monitoring or Asbestos Sampling.
- CT Asbestos Inspector certificate.
- CT Asbestos Project Monitor certificate.
- Experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Experience with groundwater monitoring and sampling.

Our client, a leading national environmental engineering firm is seeking a talented Environmental Scientist to join their team in Rocky Hill, CT!
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Environmental Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will perform tests and sampling of asbestos, building materials, and various environmental media. You will assist with asbestos, mold, and other industrial hygiene surveys and abatement/remediation projects. Additionally, you will conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs) in accordance with ASTM Standard E1527-21 to identify recognized environmental conditions and other conditions of environmental concern.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $31.25/hr.
