      Do you want to head the construction of our biggest offshore wind farm?

      Despite the challenges in the market at present, Vattenfall has a robust pipeline of future offshore windfarms to be built and we are now looking to recruit an EPC Director for one of the world’s largest offshore windfarms.

      You will be delivering the offshore windfarm project from Pre-FID till hand-over to Operations & Maintenance. You will be reporting to the Head of Project Execution in Project Delivery BU Offshore Wind.

      BU Offshore Wind is part of Business Area Wind which is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like PV/Solar. Today we develop, construct and operate wind farms across Europe.

      Project Delivery is responsible for safely constructing next generation offshore wind farms. We do so with strong cross functional projects teams, skills and passion.

      As EPC Director it is your responsibility to deliver the construction project safely on time, budget and agreed quality until handover to O&M, e.g. responsible for preparing the construction project for Final Investment Decision and to manage full manufacturing and construction phases with scope packages and suppliers.

      You will refer to the Project Director and lead a management team of package managers. You will together with the project management team, consisting of the Project Director, Commercial Project Manager and you, have the responsibility of the construction project from even before Final Investment Decision, based on our preferred concepts and lead negotiations until contract award. During the construction phase you will be responsible for making it all happen and end up with proudly handing over the wind farm for many years of environment friendly electricity production.

      You will be working with both internal and external suppliers.

      Your key tasks as EPC Director will be to

      • be responsible for the delivery of the construction project scope on schedule, on budget and in the right quality and with an excellent HSE performance
      • drive the business case towards an optimized level, through strong supplier cooperation around innovative improvements, commercial engineering and strong risk management and mitigation
      • lead the project team and drive collaboration in the teams, based on clear communication, priorities and empowerment
      • ensure efficient decision making and strong stakeholder management
      • manage timely execution of the project through pro-active critical path overview
      • provide the EPC part of budgets for FID based on project specific CAPEX, OPEX and AEP
      • secure quality of deliveries from teams within project and manage HSE, project risks and stakeholders
      • Continuously deliver lessons learned back to the organisation for next projects to benefit from

      Qualifications


      Your competences include that you

      • have experience within offshore wind, as well as execution (construction/contracting) of large scale projects – working with multiple suppliers
      • have a strong, pro-active leadership mindset
      • have experience in leading teams and individual contributors in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary matrix organization environment, driving solutions and delivering results, while having a motivating and inclusive environment
      • possess solid knowledge and understanding of technical/commercial levers impact on business case
      • are a strong communicator with excellent technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills
      • have Senior Project Management Experience, knowledge and competence equivalent to IPMA level A/B and /or PMI PgMP or similar
      • hold a master degree in Engineering supported by leadership training relevant to leading leaders level or similar

      You are expected to be fluent in English.

      Location:

      Office location is flexible in one of these locations: Kolding, Hamburg, Amsterdam, London or Hexham. Travel within northern Europe is expected to be approx. 40-50 days per year.
