- Consultants will provide operational security administration and access control support to the new Epic implementation.
- Will be responsible for supporting the ongoing implementation and on-going optimization. Consultants will support Epic access control initiatives throughout the enterprise and work as a liaison for departments and business units on technical Epic security matters.
- Will participate in the planning, development, and deployment of Epic access control standards and processes into production. Develop supporting documentation and procedures for these processes.
- Will evaluate and refine existing processes. Analyze user access needs; develop access roles and add/change/delete user access to the Epic application. Provide Epic user security and access support. Assist in special projects, such as application go-lives, upgrades, enhancements, etc., and assist staff as required.
- Perform daily systems security administration functions, including managing customer access requests; creating, modifying and/or deleting customer profiles and accounts; maintaining appropriate documentation; and perform all Security audits.
- Perform or assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing customer access problems; correct identified problem(s) and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Monitor and audit Epic access log files as appropriate/requested. Analyze, interpret and present audit findings into clear, concise reports.
- Analyze and integrate Epic access controls-specific log information, including operating system-level access logs. Perform event correlation as required.
- Conduct regular reviews of the Epic system to identify real and/or potential security and/or access weaknesses.
- Receive research and interpret Epic security threat warnings from internal tools.
- Facilitate the identification and resolution of Epic security issues.
- Participate in system build projects for implementation with applicable clinical teams.
- Represent the Security team in Change Control meetings and be able to identify issues as they relate to Epic and associated clinical and information systems' security.
- Create Status reports on projects, identify risks and issues, and document mitigation plans.
- Be able to lead meetings, create agendas, and document follow-ups.
- Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent education and directly related experience.
- Four to six years of experience working in IT in the health-care industry in IT security administration.
- Strong Epic security experience
- Security certification (and experience using the certification)
- Experience in managing multiple Epic security implementations
