Job Description
- Req#: 367886
- Move car bodies and rail vehicles on-site from one location to another using various heavy transportation equipment.
- Prepare rail vehicles for shipping. Prepare flat cars for shipment of rail vehicles.
- Load rail vehicles on flat cars or tractor trailers following required procedures and tie down methods.
- Certification for the use of some equipment may be required, such as forklift, transporter, Rail King, Con-O-Lift, and Straddle Carrier.
- Meet company standards for quality and workmanship
- High school education or GED
- 2 years’ experience as a heavy equipment operator
- Basic English skills – ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.
- Upon offer of employment, candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screen.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential job duties:
- Able to walk long distances on concrete in steel toe safety shoes.
- Frequently reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to climb, such as, but not limited to stairs, steps, and ladders.
- Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
- Talk and hear.
- Lift and move no more than 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

As an Equipment Operator, you will use heavy transportation equipment to move car bodies and completed rail cars and locomotives between production processes in a dynamic, high energy production environment producing the best rail vehicles in the world.
Full time position
Starting pay - $19.27/hr. (plus shift premium – 10% for 2nd shift, 20% for 3rd shift)
11 paid holidays, 18 days PTO

· Meet production schedule, quality requirements, and budgeted labor hours with limited supervision.
· Trains and provides direction to other workers regarding loading and unloading methods, sequences, and procedures.
