Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers in the planning and coordination of all aspects of the meetings and events held on campus
Work with Event Managers, Associate Director of Catering and Conferencing, Manager of Conference and Events, and Assistant Head Chef of Catering in the effective communication of standard operating procedures in the sale and production of food and beverage services.
Communicate the logistical details of event set ups with the Campus and Bemis Operations staff to ensure an understanding of the details necessary to carry out events.
Establish and maintain relations with clients and guests to collect all event logistics, help guide them to event solutions, communicate, and follow through with client deadlines by keeping them on task. Organize all information collected within our event management system continuously. Ensure all event information is entered accurately to what each customer needs, pricing is up to date, and our policies/practices are met.
Assist the Manager of Conferences and Events with the activities of the year-round conference services program. Maintain a working knowledge of the operation to assist with conducting tours for potential events, discuss rates related to space usage and set-up style, audio-visual capabilities of the venue, and sell food and beverages.
Self-manage various processes of planning multiple events at once by switching back and forth between tasks based on their importance and urgency.
Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training.
Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2-3 years of clerical, meeting planning, hospitality, or customer service experience.
Knowledge of audio/visual equipment and ability to use it effectively.
Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.
Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.
Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.
Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner.
Skilled at setting a good example for others.
Skilled at organizing events, programs, projects and seeing them through to completion.
St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking an Event Coordinator. This position is responsible for servicing customers in the planning and coordination of meetings, conferences, and catering facets for St. Norbert College and ensuring event details are communicated.
Regular work hours are M – F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm working on campus as well as occasional weekends. This position may be asked to assist with our day-to -day operations to fulfill an event need.Specific responsibilities:
