- Undertake a full range of nursing duties in line with professional scope of practice, RCN guidelines and St. John Ambulance Cymru policy and procedures.
- As appropriate, assess, manage and discharge patients.
- Where required, administer medications in line with professional scope of practice and in adherence with St. John Ambulance Cymru medicines management policy.
- Meet the standards set out in the St. John Ambulance Cymru healthcare professionals and clinical practice policy and completion of the Nurse/Midwife passport.
- Maintain up to date with continual professional development and the requirements of the HCPC.
- Maintain ability to operate in line with HCPC standards of proficiency.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with St. John Ambulance Cymru policy and procedures.
- Drive the organisations vehicles in accordance with the vehicle and driving policy, where appropriate.
- On commencement of duty, check all relevant equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and ready for use, report any defects to the event manager.
- Assist with the induction and mentorship of new staff and volunteers as required.
- Maintain professional registration with the health and care professions council.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by St. John Ambulance Cymru management.
- Maintain and hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate
- Adhere to St John Ambulance Cymru Values, Mission and Vision set by the organisation.

Job summary
Are you an experienced nurse with a background in emergency, acute or primary care?
Our event nurses work as part of our multidisciplinary teams providing assessment and treatment of patients at public events across Wales.
Working alongside our first aid teams, ambulance crews, paramedics and doctors you will provide high quality clinical care at large public events ranging from festivals, to concerts, to sporting events and many more.
Event work allows an opportunity to use your nursing skills outside of a traditional setting, gaining more experience and reducing the impact on the NHS.
Main duties of the job
