      Job Description

      The Event Services Manager reports to the Director of Guest Services. Oversees and assures Guest Experience elements for special events executed at The Schottenstein Center, Manages Traffic Services and Building Security for JSC events and daily operations. Develops event traffic plans and orders services and equipment to execute the plan. Provides supervision of event staff during events; Maintains and issues clothing and equipment for Security / Traffic Services activities. Maintains Staff parking pass database. Supervises graduate assistants and interns; Liaison with University Public Safety to establish safety and traffic plans. Liaison with Medical Service providers. Assists with payroll management; Collaborates with Event Managers to create event staffing plans and other aspects of event preparation; Serves as Event Manager for select athletic and special events; Assists with the recruitment, hiring, and training of event staff, develops and delivers training content; Assists in the oversight of scheduling of event staff and building security for all athletic events, concerts, and other special events; Assists with guest recovery efforts; Prepares and delivers event day reports and communications; Assists with the Reward and Recognition program for all event staff and assists with team member special events; Provides performance management of event staff; Assists other department staff with department project preparation and implementation. Assists with development and monitoring of department business plan and Annual Budget. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays required. Event staff totals approximately 400 part time intermittent employees and 50 student employees Performs other duties as assigned.

      Minimum Required Qualifications

      Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.

      Preferred Qualifications

      Experience in event production, guest relations, theatrical production front of house operations or conference services. Experience managing staff.

      Additional Information:

      The pay range for this position is $55,100 - $72,400 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
