      BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
      Leads the organization, execution, and measurement of events and sponsorships, both internal and external for the Credit Union. Ensures execution and organization of events positively reflect and build on GECU’s brand and image in the community. Develops and adheres to established budget for all events.

      TYPICAL DUTIES
      Organizes and executes events and sponsorships and in collaboration with branches, departments, and other community organizations. Ensures appropriate number of GECU volunteers and paid employees are engaged to take care of projected turnout and audience.

      Develops, plans, and presents event recommendations, event logistics, and task coordination with the Community Relations Director, to include employee events, member annual meeting, branch events, and overall community events.

      Assists and makes recommendations to Community Relations Director in partner initiatives and stakeholder relationships.

      Organizes logistics to include all types of vendors (i.e. sound equipment, caterers, entertainment), from concept to tear-down of every event ensuring adherence to strategy, layouts, checklists, timelines, roles, etc. Requests and schedules Facilities personnel when needed. Communicates regularly with Community Relations Director to adhere to marketing strategies, brand awareness, and public perception. Develops, obtains approval, and closely follows all budgeting guidelines and approved budgets.

      Understands reputation management and brand perception, and is responsible for maintaining and building positive public perception through community events and initiatives.

      Makes recommendations on public relations opportunities and assists in reviewing external communication pieces.

      Develops and makes recommendations on performance metrics and how we measure success at each event to determine impact, outcome, and future involvement.

      Compiles giveaways for all events, sponsorships, and other credit union purposes. Works with colleagues and department managers to strategically make creative recommendations on
      giveaways and value proposition that complement the event and sponsorship.

      Works with departments and Communication department to evaluate the results of various marketing strategies and programs to ensure successful attainment of goals. Evaluates the strategies utilized to determine best fit results. Makes recommendations regarding various marketing to enhance the results for future events.

      Makes recommendations on possible new vendors. Responsible for working with vendors, fielding calls from sales people, and accepting deliveries.

      Works with Community Relations Director to maintain binder recording of all community/public relations activities and expenses.

      Works closely with the Community Relations Director on charitable contribution requests with administrative duties to include: organization of requests and spreadsheets, follow up communication for each requestor, ensuring attendance and confirmation of payment, and execution of events tied to charitable sponsorships.

      Maintains budget amounts and balances on charitable contribution requests.

      Reconciles monthly AMEX charges and maintains respective annual budgets.

      Organizes regular storage room maintenance and cleaning with assistance from GECU Ambassadors. Includes indirect supervision to complete tasks in a safe manner.

      Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations.

      Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of credit union.

      Requirements

      CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
      Bachelor of Business Administration with major in Marketing or Bachelors in Communication Studies or one (1) to three (3) years of related job experience.

      Public Relation experience a plus.

      Excellent organizational skills.

      Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Excellent event planning and management skills. Strong problem-solving skills.
      Strong understanding of public perception and community events. Excellent networking, planning, and project management skills. High level of quality assurance and attention to detail.
      Ability to manage multi-task assignments. Excellent time management skills.
      Able to meet deadlines in stressful environment.

      Flexible and adaptable to change

      Ability to work with vendors.

      Ability to develop research skills of compliance issues, products and various marketing campaigns. Good clerical skills and proficient in the use of personal computer and software applications.
      Knowledge of general office procedures, telephone techniques, copy machine, fax machine, etc.

      Requires sitting the majority of the day, lifting up to 35 pounds continuously, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Bending, twisting, reaching above and below shoulder frequently, squatting, climbing and kneeling occasionally.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
      Providing quality service is the primary responsibility of this position. Quality service means treating members and coworkers with respect and courtesy at all levels whether in person or by telephone as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

      Hours of availability: Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., with non-traditional hours included for events. (early mornings, evenings and weekends, if needed.)
