      Executive Director, Clinical Operations – Global Startup Lead

      We have an exciting opportunity for:

      Executive Director, Clinical Operations – Global Startup Lead

      As part of the global Clinical Operations leadership team, this position will set the vision and strategic direction for startup operations globally and play a leading role in the evolution of clinical delivery. This is such an exciting time to be leading the region and to be at the forefront as we implement our evolving clinical delivery model (360 Clinical Delivery), developing a more agile and future-focused process for delivery to better serve our customers and patients, in safe and effective ways.

      As a global lead, you will assist senior leaders in developing the infrastructure to expedite the delivery of clinical trials. You will ensure alignment and integration of startup services to drive operational excellence, improve cycle times and rapid site activation.

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide Site Start up expertise for business processes and systems, local regulations and clinical practices and collaborates with key partners and leadership across multiple departments on the continuous development and improvement of site start-up
      • Provides leadership and oversight of deliveries and cycle times across projects, regions and countries
      • Leads regional performance review meetings and facilitates meetings to identify potential opportunities and risks and work with the clinical and site start up team to mitigate risks, enhance efficiencies and improve cycle times
      • Assists senior leaders in developing the infrastructure, systems, processes, and policies to effectively deliver innovative and customized solutions to accelerate start up and meet clients’ needs.
      • Develops and nurtures mutually beneficial collaborations to assist in winning new business and execution of existing business. Assists Business Development with site start up deliverable portion of proposals and participates in presentations to client by providing input on start-up issues.
      • Champions process improvements and promotes compliance with industry standards and regulations.

      Qualifications

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's Degree in a science related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
      • A consistent record of success in clinical development area (equivalent to 10-15+ years) and experience in start-up ,
      • Line management experience (5-10+ years) appropriate to the size and complexity of the clinical operations group Must have project and start up management experience
      • Knowledge and understanding of clinical operations regulatory guidelines and directives

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Strong leadership skills and executive presence
      • Experience developing, strategic, tactical plans and delivering according to plan
      • Ability to analyze and resolve complex cross functional issues and mitigate risk
      • Strong sense of urgency and a reputation for accountability
      • Strong business sense with detailed understanding of the organization and functional areas, excellent critical thinking
      • Ability to work in a high pressure/time sensitive environment including the ability to handle multiple issues on multiple projects simultaneously
      • Effective negotiation skills with internal and external customers
      • Ability to diffuse difficult circumstances and resolve critical issues and conflicts
      • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and fiscal management to drive decisions
      • Track record of building peer relationships and effective teams with demonstrated global and cultural awareness
      • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
      • Analytical skills, excellence in oral and written communications, strong attention to detail, prioritization, and time management proficiencies
