      Job Role Summary

      The Executive director shall oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the RTV and training opportunities for personnel, assisting in developing and implementing new policies and directing the overall operations of RTV.
      In addition, the director shall provide leadership within the community and interact with various people in the community in conjunction with the HHC Board of Directors and the mission of the RTV program. The director will work with the HHC leadership team, staff, and volunteers to move RTV forward in the development and implementation of objectives that reflect the organization's vision, mission, and strategic plan. In addition, the director shall report to the Vice President of External Affairs about the department's progress and the organizational challenges.

      Associated Job Duties

      • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence as determined by the positive results and best practices for mentorship, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, grant funding opportunities, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
      • Collect, maintain, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the senior vice president of external affairs. Monitor and maintain compliance with organization MOU's and funding sources for the program.
      • Develop and maintain productive relations with local, state, and federal stakeholders.
      • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
      • Overseeing the operations related to the implementation, growth, and development of the mentor program. Operations include: but are not limited to, the training and screening of adult/youth peer volunteers, matching volunteers one-to-one or in a small group with at-risk workshops; planning and implementing life skill workshops, planning and implementing
      • Community-based activities programs; coordinating the implementation of targeted services and programs for the youth community.
      • Actively engage and energize volunteers, consultants, staff committees, community groups, partnering organizations, and funders.
      • Develop, maintain, and support a strong group of consultants and mentors; serve as a liaison of each programming meeting; seek and build staff, community, and consultant involvement with strategic direction for ongoing operations.
      • Lead, coach, direct, develop, and retain the current staff and volunteers.
      • Ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate program components, to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the HHC board, grant funders, and other constituents. Maintain a high standard of excellence in mentoring and support services to at-risk youth.
      • Keep the organization informed of current research and information relevant to the program and work with staff and leadership and consultants to maintain an ongoing evaluation protocol, including required documentation, and data collection.
      • Represent the program in the community and evaluate special community collaboration opportunities.
      • Lead organization in developing diversity and inclusion strategy, pledge and train employees and mentors/volunteer program.

      Qualifications

      •BA in social services or related field with 10 years of supervisory/managerial experience. Master's degree in childhood development, school counseling, social work, child counseling, public health, elementary education, secondary education, or early childhood development.

      •Track record of effectively leading a nonprofit, program, or division; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.

      •Cleared Tuberculosis test results

      •Flexibility and willingness to work irregular and long hours including evenings and weekends.

      •Bilingual is a plus

      •Position requires on-call- 24 hours a day

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

      • Maintain annual training requirements/licensure/certifications
      • Established relationships with Indianapolis Public School systems and other Marion County schools. Track record of working with them and developing a strong relationship.
      • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
      • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to lead staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
      • Past success working with a Board of Directors or external committee with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.
      • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
      • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
      • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self­ directed.
      • Provide participants with information, literacy, history, knowledge of self (through cultural and social awareness), and survival skills.
      • Encourage good decision-making so that participants will be able to successfully access all aspects of their communities.
      • Enhance the self-worth of participants, promote self-dignity and strive to improve their quality of life individually and as a part of the community.
