      We are seeking an Executive Recruiter who will steward the process of hiring staff for executive-level roles across all disciplines and functions at Johns Hopkins University. You will be an expert at your craft comprising all aspects of an executive search including research, candidate generation and development, senior client management, complex offer negotiations, and staff onboarding. You will be exceptional at influencing executive business leaders to make well-informed decisions. The Executive Recruiter will also research, interview and recommend as well as manage the selection and engagement process with executive search firms. You will be expected to think broadly and implement strategies to engage, assess, and close top talent to help Johns Hopkins reach its bold ambitions.


      Specific Duties & Responsibilities

      • Collaborate with university leadership and hiring committees to thoroughly understand their specific needs, organizational culture, and strategic goals, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of the desired candidate profile.
      • Build a trusted advisor relationship with hiring managers, coaching them on effective search strategies, compensation, interviewing and long-term engagement of passive candidates.
      • Develop targeted sourcing strategies in multiple disciplines/domains; partner with external resources as needed.
      • Deliver exceptional communication including search presentation materials, job descriptions, candidate profiles, interviewer/stakeholder communication, and candidate preparation.
      • Research, interview and recommend external executive search firms.
      • Usher external executive search contracts through procurement.
      • Meet regularly with external search firm and key internal stakeholders.
      • Utilize various channels and resources to identify and source qualified candidates for executive-level positions, including passive candidates from relevant industries, professional networks, databases, and job boards.
      • Lead the offer process in collaboration with internal stakeholders; negotiate and close candidates.
      • Create and drive best-in-class experiences that delight candidates and hiring team members.
      • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion through every aspect of the hiring journey.
      • Stay updated on industry trends, compensation benchmarks, and emerging leadership competencies in higher education to inform and guide recruitment strategies effectively.
      • Collaborate and partner across the broader talent acquisition team and serve as a mentor for others.
      • Ensure adherence to all applicable recruitment laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the recruitment process.


      Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's Degree required.
      • Seven (7) + years sourcing and recruiting experience with a strong emphasis on executive recruiting.
      • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

      • Proven track record of hiring best-in-class diverse technical and functional leaders.
      • Ability to build talent pipelines and develop long term prospect relationship strategies.
      • Demonstrated experience and comfort partnering with and influencing senior executives.
      • Deep knowledge of the external talent environment, market trends, competitors, and general talent availability.
      • Exceptional collaboration skills; yet confident when working autonomously.
      • High business acumen & strong communication skills, written and verbal; ability to present data and its implications in a clear, concise manner.
      • Technologically astute; ability to leverage tools and technology to manage talent pipelines and ensure data hygiene.
      • Ability to work with discretion and handle sensitive and confidential information.
      • A strategic mindset with a results-driven approach to meet recruitment goals and timelines.

      Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines:
      JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

      The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
