      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team at Bryngolau Ward, Prince Philip Hospital Llanelli. This is a 30-hour post within Older Adult Mental Health, providing excellent opportunity to develop and enhance your clinical skills within the OT framework.

      The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering holistic, client centered care, focusing on promoting independence and maintaining functional skills. You will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support effective and safe discharge planning for patients.

      The position offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults while advancing your professional expertise in a supportive and dynamic environment.

      Main duties of the job

      The post offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. You will have a specific interest in Older Adult Mental Health and demonstrate an enthusiasm for the role. You will be keen to develop Best Practice in compliance with Dementia Standards and A Healthier Wales.

      The post holder will be required to develop positive relationships between all healthcare professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies, maintaining good communication across all areas.

      The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning and intervention of clients who experience cognitive loss. You will have a varied caseload to include younger onset dementia sufferers and people living with functional mental health issues.

      There will be opportunity to develop group work skills and deliver ground-breaking, evidenced based interventions such as Recovery Through Activity.

      The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
