Support the Operations Teams and Global Supply chain team in the resolution of complex multi brand trade offs at our CMOs within the Tactical horizon
You’ll provide SME support and leadership for the resolution of complex imbalances identified within the S&OP cycle working in partnership with Global Supply Chain & execution teams to deliver optimal outcomes. You’ll represent ESM in the new Supply Chain set up process.
Lead the development and coordinate the delivery of key initiatives you’re your technology area to drive ongoing optimisation of service, cost, cash and sustainability aligned to business objectives, collaborating closely with Global Supply Chain, ESM Strategic Leads, Ops teams & Procurement.
Lead a team of External Supply Coordinators / External Supply Managers / Critical Material Supply Managers, within ESM for their assigned portfolio. You will ensure that the team is sufficiently resourced, trained and efficiently. deployed to deliver seamless schedule execution aligned to ESM processes.
Partners with Operations Teams, other ESM functions & external AZ teams to deliver supply chain optimisation across a given portfolio, driving service, productivity & inventory and efficiency improvements.
Degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken into account
Strong experience in Supply Chain Environment (Manufacturing, Planning) and Supply & Operations Planning process
Advanced Supply Chain (inventory, capacity and network) planning skills
Experience in collaboration with the key interfaces within the end to end supply chain, with manufacturing and between supply chain and commercial functions – experience working with third party suppliers.
Excellent communications and collaboration skills required to manage a multitude of customers and stakeholders
Experience in managing and developing solutions for Supply Chain events.
Proficient in using key Lean Tools
APICS / CSCP or equivalent certification
Lean certification
Understanding of and contributing to an S&OP process.
Leadership experience
Operational Experience with ERP/APS systems
Capacity management & modelling
Understanding of supply chain planning parameters, master data and master data integrity & quality.

External Supply and Manufacturing (ESM) supports the Operations strategy by establishing and managing suppliers across the world that meet our global standards. Through external suppliers, the team manages approximately one third of AstraZeneca’s value of production. ESM plays a key role in ensuring the external supply chains are robust and deliver value to AstraZeneca through driving continuous improvement.
The External Supply Lead partners effectively across the ESM functional teams and cross-functionally with Global Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance & Technical functions to develop and oversee delivery of a programme of work to deliver optimisation across the portfolio to meet service, productivity and cash milestone targets.
As a Supply Chain SME, you will be responsible for providing leadership support to the External Operations teams across the tactical S&OP horizon, maintaining alignment between key internal stakeholders and contributing to optimized outcomes.
